Guess what guys, Hopkins is racist!

http://wjz.com/video/?id=22289@wjz.dayport.com

this is what happens at JHU, and the news totally blew it out of proportion

the kid in the "slave" outfit and the kid wearing a banana are kids in my dorm

CRAZY

(we're not racist)

three people I was acquainted with died this week and this week marked the anniversary of katie otero's death

it's scary...my brother's best friend had a heart attack and died, he was 15, it's like katie all over again

i don't know whether i've become more or less emotional as I've gotten older, i think i try to get over depressing things too quickly, i don't let myself think about events

i also don't know whether my job (which involves seeing pics of dead people all the time) has made me more or less sensitive about death

...and that's the end of my depressing entry

fuck the meningitis vaccine, it makes you feel like shit

I swear, i better not get seriously sick from this or I'm going to sue the vaccine company

it's been a while since i last updated. I've been working for the past two weeks at the District Attorneys office downtown. It's an interesting job, I get to make photocopies of pictures of dead people and I get to hear about all these disturbing cases from the attorneys and paralegals. It's exciting to work in the professional world. A bunch of the cases that come through our office are on the news.

So, other than work I've been getting ready for college. It's exciting and scary. There are lots of important decisions to be made, like which bedspread should I buy.

good luck to everyone else with your preparation for college life

sorry, this is a lame ass entry, but what can i say, my wardrobe is important

i think i need to take another senior ditch day, maybe wednesday. I need a nice tan and I need to get rid of the sock tan i got in yosemite, so i'm thinking i want to go to the beach.

Come on guys, let's turn this...

We did this in yosemite, i thought it was really cool.

Answer the first six questions then look at the answers.
Don't cheat, it ruins it.

1. Describe your favorite color
2. Describe your favorite pet
3. Put these animals in order from your favorite to least favorite: sheep, horse, pig, cow, tiger
4. How would you describe the feeling you would have if you were in a room with just white walls? (there are no windows, just think of a blank canvas)
5. how would you feel if you had a free saturday and could do whatever you wanted?
6. What three people would you want to have dinner with? they can be alive or dead. describe each of them using a few words.

Answers:
1. this describes yourself
2. this describes your future spouse
3. tiger-pride
cow- career/education
sheep- love
horse- friends/family
pig- money
the order of the animals shows how important each of these is to you
4. this describes what you think the "after life" is like
5. this is how you would describe being in love
6. the words you used to describe the people describe who you want to become in the future

this is for:

school- the fact that we are still in it
hw- no one gives a shit about it, so stop giving it to us
not being in yosemite- no worries, just one big happy family
finals- same reason as hw
san marino- seniors don't have finals and they get out a week earlier than we do
french- mrs. mogel is soooooooo crazy
boys- no comment
sleeping in segments- just stop doing it, it makes you crazy
being bored- i need a car and a new hobby
myspace- stop wasting my time!

i'm going to the Keane concert, i'm super excited, it sold out the first day the tickets went on sale

this is so random, but....everyone needs to listen to Temperature by Sean Paul because it instantly makes you want to have a dance party

PROM 2006 [Apr. 30th, 2006|08:36 pm]
Prom = awesome

http://community.webshots.com/user/peterpangrl11

During the course of last night's eventful evening I found that my throat was in need of some refreshment and that my mind was in need of some caffeine. I soon found myself standing in line waiting for a latte at the coffee machine. While my latte was being concocted I stroke up a conversation with the handsome young man working behind the machine. I was informed that being in high school is one of the most fun times in a person's life. This was not the first time I had heard a comment such as this, but it forced me to think about my high school career.

I recognize that I have had a lot of fun in high school. I will never forget the friends I've made or many of the opportunities I have participated in. The thing is though, I've also had a lot of shit in high school. I have never known a more emotionally and physically draining time. I will not miss staying up until at least 1:00 every day of the week or pulling three "samantha's" in a row. I will not miss wondering whether all of my hard work will be profitable. I realize that in the future I will still have to deal with shit like this and more, but I am extremely grateful that at least for the moment, it's over.

I will not look back on high school with regrets and sorrow, because people only remember the good times in their lives. Memories are tricky, they are good at forgetting events and emotions you don't want to remember.

I am not writing this to say that I did not enjoy high school, but rather that I believe I have had some of the best times of my life as well as some of the worst.

so i'm back from baltimore/new jersey, and i'm like 90% sure i'm going to JHU

Day 1
I explored the harbor in baltimore and found it to be acceptable, it's not as bad as people seem to think it is. Also, baltimore has crab cakes which i love, so i could really learn to love that city.

In the afternoon i met the JHU fencing coach. Basically, it would be amazing to be on the team because they pay for everything (blades, bags, everything but shoes apparently) and i'll get to travel to other colleges and cities on the weekends. The team went to Holland this year for ten days and it cost each individual like 300 bucks. (!!!!)

In the evening i met my overnight college student. Despite being in a sorority, she was really nice and friendly. She proved to me that JHU really does have a social life, and yes, it does involve alcohol. So i spent the night meeting her other sorority friends, all of which looked like they had popped out of a jcrew catalog. I also got to meet some nerdy boys who were pretty cool.

They even have stupid frat boys at JHU. At dinner they were playing a game where they had to catch an apple with a fork and then later one guy climbed into an ice cream freezer and scared people who came for ice cream.

Day 2
I went to the open house. It was cool.

Day 3
I visited Drew which is a small university in new jersey that offered me a nice merit scholarship. Halfway through the tour i realized i wouldn't be happy going to Drew, so my mother and i politely finished the tour and then went in search of the closest H&M before we had to go to the airport.

Moral of story:
JHU is full of nerds and some of the classes are quite challenging, but if you manage your time well you can succeed and there are some really hot lacrosse players (brains and beauty, who could ask for more? now i just need to learn how to play lacrosse)
